It will come as no surprise that Leiden has something to do with mathematics and science.
But did you know that in 1610 the German-Dutch mathematician Ludolph van Ceulen calculated the first 35 decimal places of the number pi? And that, and much more, you can discover along this walk in the Pieterskerk in Leiden. The text was the first scientific publication on a tombstone.
