Between Montfort and the German border lies the nature reserve Het Sweeltje along the Vlootbeek. Montfort Castle dates back to 1260 and was for centuries one of the largest castles in the Netherlands. This is commemorated by an impressive castle ruin, of which two corner towers and several large cellar spaces have been restored in recent years.
The Rozendaal estate is located between Montfort and Sint Joost. The grave monument in Montfort was established in memory of the 186 war victims from Montfort and surrounding villages.
