The Peddestool
The starting point of the route is at the church and junction 72. Here you will find a work of art by Jan Janssen that symbolizes the long-standing connection between Maasbree and Baarlo. Jan Janssen chose the most remarkable buildings that have strongly influenced the history of Maasbree: the church, the pump, the readhoès, the school, the monastery, Café van Oijen, the hoës Van d Loë, and the 'ermenhuuske.' This artwork is called the 'Peddestool' and points with an arrow in the direction of Baarlo. It symbolizes the long-standing relationship with this village center.
