GH 08B The Crimea

GH 08B Hoenderloo - Beekbergen 9 km.
Are you coming by bus? Your stop is the bus stop Hoenderloo Centrum, Line 108 Syntus. The walk ends at the bus stop Schalterbergweg Beekbergen, Line 91 Syntus.

The route can be nicely combined with the GH route 07 Spelderholt, 10 km from Beekbergen to Hoenderloo.

The route "De Krim" runs alongside part of the NWB path, the Jägerspad. Since the Jägerspad is described in one direction and you will walk the route in the opposite direction, you will encounter the yellow-blue markings at illogical places along the way. Therefore, follow the route description carefully and consult the map if necessary. Of course, it is best to upload the route track to your GPS device.

Route description.
Walk from the bus stop Centrum in Hoenderloo deeper into the village. Cross the intersection with Speldermarkweg straight ahead. Go left of the road to Heldringsweg and turn left. Cross Middenweg straight ahead and after 50 m take the gravel path to the right at the LAW sign. Walk the gravel path until the end. At the junction of the roads with a picnic area, you will find on the right "IJs van Co," the best ice cream in the Netherlands.

One of Janny and Co's grandsons from the ice cream parlor in Hoenderloo came up with the slogan: Ice from CO from Hoenderloo, is so!!! This is how the name IJs van CO was born. When the glass box above the ice window suddenly broke, a red awning with the name IJs van CO was installed. A test on Radio Gelderland showed that they have the best ice cream in Gelderland. Make sure to stand in line from March to October to taste the delicious ice cream.

At the curve with Krimweg, turn left onto the semi-paved Oudeweg. Go until the intersection with the asphalt road, Brouwersweg. Turn right and at the intersection with Miggelenbergweg turn left. Take the first road to the right, Elisabethweg, until you reach Krimweg and turn left.
You pass a climbing area on the right.
About 80 m further at the edge of the forest, turn left through the flap gate.

Follow the path along the edge of the forest until the end of the field. The path bends to the right. Go through the flap gate or over the wild grid and walk straight to the concrete cycle path. Turn left and take the first sandy path to the right, into the overgrown heath. The sandy path goes slightly uphill. Take the first path on the left, before the bench on your right.

The path descends to the right. At the fork, keep left. At the junction by the marked post, keep right and at the next marked post follow the path left to the bench at the traffic road. Turn right immediately after the bench parallel to the traffic road. After the bushes, turn the path to the right, it goes slightly uphill. At the fork, turn sharply left.

Go straight into the woods at the marked bench. Continue to the T-junction with the semi-paved sandy path, turn left and take the immediately first path to the right. The path may be quite muddy here and there. Go until the T-junction.
Turn right and take the first semi-paved forest road to the left. Cross the slightly offset intersection straight ahead and go to the T-junction, turn right. The second forest path to the left leads you until the T-junction with a semi-paved forest path.

Turn right and at the end of the path turn left.
The forest path bends to the right and then to the left. Then go straight to the T-junction, turn right. After the intersection (where a pond has formed), take the first path to the left. Cross the cycle path straight ahead and go 15 m afterwards to the right up the path. Go into the first path to the left. The path narrows and bends to the left. Turn right at the fork, left at the next fork, and right at the following fork.

The path bends to the left. Take the first path to the right.
Continue on the path that bends to the right. At the fork, take the path sharply to the left. Keep right at the fork until the T-junction. Turn right and at the fork turn left.

At an iron end post, you come onto a semi-paved path with a cycle path. Turn left. Go straight over the wild grid. The path leads to the asphalt road. Continue until the Oude Arnhemseweg. Turn left and walk about 300 m to the bus stop Schalterdalweg.

Across from the bus stop, there is a catering establishment.
