ALS Walk 2013

LONG A.L.S. ROUTE 2013 (Distance: 82 KM, with more than 700 meters of elevation)
The numbers of the bike junctions are indicated in square brackets; if they are in round brackets, this direction is followed for a while before taking a different direction. The distance between two bike junctions is also indicated in round brackets.
The starting and ending point is at the Maastrichtse Watersport Club, MWC, Hoge Kanaaldijk 100 (6212 XP Maastricht).
Leave the MWC parking lot to the right, go straight towards junction [1], and turn right onto the St. Servaasbrug. Turn left after crossing the Maas. Follow the river banks north towards the Noorderbrug. At the end of Franciscus Romanusweg, turn right and go left at the traffic lights under the Noorderbrug. Continue straight on Borgharenweg towards Borgharen, which is left at a roundabout and then right. Before the lock, you are already on the junction route towards junction [14] (west of Bunde) and continue following the junctions as indicated, so:
START (MWC)--->(2.1km)--[1]--(11.7km)--->[14] (Bunde)---(1.7km)--->[15]---(3.1km)--->[18] (Kasen)---Detour via GPS track--(8.7km)-->[19] (Humcoven)---(5.7km)--->[20]---(2.4km)--->[63] (Schimmert)---(4.7km)--->[61] (Houthem).
Now briefly follow the direction of junction (64), but pass by "Het Belgisch Rijwielhuis" and turn left after crossing the Geul. Go a little further right up to the Brakkeberg. Turn left at the top and on your left side is the parking lot with the BREAK area (after 43.4 km). After the break, continue left and turn right before the end of the built-up area (= Slakweg). Cross the Rijksweg and follow down on the opposite side of Gasthuisstraat to the Miniroundabout. There, sharply turn left (= Lindenstraat). Continue on this paved country road until you reach the continuous road. Cross this and follow the bike path to the right on the other side. At the roundabout, go straight towards Sibbe. In the center of Sibbe, turn left (= Bergstraat) and follow the descent of the Sibbergrubbe down. At the bottom, turn right to Schin op Geul. After Schin op Geul (just before the bridge over the Geul), go right up the Keutenberg. At the top of the Keutenberg, continue on the path and go straight at an intersection. At the highest point, turn left at a T-intersection. You are now back on the junction route towards junction [85] in Gulpen.
Now continue following the junctions as indicated:
--(3.1km)--[85] (Gulpen)---Detour via GPS track, this is at a fork by Hoeve Groenendaal, turn left uphill (instead of right)---(6.3km)--->[83] (Terlinden)---Detour via GPS track---(7.0km)--->[81] (Mheer)---(1.8km)--->[80] (Libeek)---(2.1km)--->[72] (St.-Geertruid)---(2.9km)--->[51]---(1.4km)--->[74] (Rijckholt)---(3.8km)--->[75] (Oost-Maarland)---(2.0km)--->[4]---(5.8km)--->(2) (Maastricht).
Go under the Kennedy Bridge and then immediately turn right. Go up and cross the Maas over the Kennedy Bridge. Then immediately turn right again and go left at the traffic light at the bottom (again under the Kennedy Bridge). Go a little further and turn left at the intersection, then follow the bike path on the opposite side to the right and later the side road back to the parking lot ---> = DESTINATION (MWC).

Summary of the bike junction numbers:

START -->1-->14-->15-->18-->19-->20-->63-->61--> follow GPS track, -->Pause, then via GPS track -->85-->83--> follow GPS track, then: -->81-->80-->72-->51-->74-->75-->4-->(2) DESTINATION.
