This detour takes you through a piece of the National Landscape Middag-Humsterland. A cultural landscape that belonged to the tidal landscape until the 12th century. You will come into contact with this immediately when you start at the Wierdenland Museum in Ezinge. The route leads you along the old, historic path to Aduard, Wierden from over 100 BC and winding trenches that follow the traces of old creeks, serving as witnesses to the former tidal landscape. From a later period comes the Oldijk, constructed in the 12th century, which served as a ring dyke for the (semi-)island Middag.
