Nature Route Haaksbergen-Enschede

In the triangle of Enschede, Haaksbergen, and the German border, there are some beautiful nature reserves. This tour takes you from the train station in Haaksbergen along quiet streets and bike paths, among other things, along the 'Buursebeek' and the Oostendorper water mill, and through the 'Haaksbergerveen'. We make a short detour across the border and find the Haarmühle water mill there. Along the way, we see various historical Twente farms. In the vicinity of Buurse, the 315 ha nature reserve 'Witte Veen' stretches out with grazing Scottish Highland cattle. We pass through the southwestern districts of Enschede along beautiful bike paths through a "green ribbon" and reach the recreational area 'Het Rutbeek' via Usselo. The tour continues to 'Het Buurserzand', a 455 ha nature reserve, and we return through the center of Haaksbergen back to the parking lot.
