Where the trees see the light.

A beautiful alternative to the lumberjack route, through the stunning nursery area. A route that is easy for both beginners and experienced runners who want to enjoy the beautiful trees and plants that are cultivated in the various nurseries along the route.

I have also deliberately decided to start at Azalealaan (Boskoop), at the parking lot of the former high/mid horticultural school. There is plenty of space for parking. It is a spooky site (in a safe neighborhood), the school has been empty for years and nature is taking over. For many years, someone has lived there because of the vacancy management.

Why start there?

- Then you already have a few meters in your legs to have an excuse to get something delicious at the tea house "de Proeftuin." This is located at the corner of Reijneveld/Spoelwijkerdijk (Boskoop). The Proeftuin was actually a trial garden for breeders, there is still a bit of activity
( http://www.proeftuinvanholland.nl/ ). But now it is mainly a pleasure for the private tree/plant lover. There is a variety of trees and plants to admire. When you enter the site, keep to the left for the most beautiful plants, on this side there is also a small bridge on the left to continue on to Spoelwijkerdijk.

- After a few steps, turn left onto the Wonnepad, walk to the end (cross the Wijkdijk) and go straight on the cycle path towards the intersection Zijdeweg/Ringdijk. Zijdeweg is a paved choice, but Ringdijk is much more beautiful. First over a paved dike path that transitions into grass. Just follow the dike, and you will arrive at Kerkweg (Reeuwijk). Routeyou did not recognize this path, but it actually exists :).

- Through the small village of Reeuwijk, with a gigantic church https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sint-Petrus_en_Pauluskerk_(Reeuwijk) .

- The route will eventually lead again through a beautiful nursery area. Soon you will arrive at Reijerskoop, turn left here and then right into Rozenlaan, an avenue with beautiful houses. And after the route is almost finished, you can enjoy a delicious snack at the snack bar "de Lelie" right next to the supermarket Hoogvliet.
