Landgoed Krabbenbosschen is located south of Effen divided between the municipalities of Zundert and Breda on both sides of the Aa or Weerijs. The area is located northeast of Rijsbergen.
The estate is approximately 96 ha in size and owned by the Brabants Landschap Foundation. It is located on two deck sand ridges, so the high areas consist mainly of coniferous forest. The low areas, in the stream valley of the Aa or Weerijs, consist of grass and arable land. In the Krabbebosschen there is also an elongated fen.

The river Mark rises at the Zandvenheide in Merksplas. The Turnhout Fens area between Merksplas, Turnhout and Baarle lies on the watershed between Maas (Dommel and Mark) and Scheldt (Nete). Via Merksplas, Wortel and Hoogstraten the Mark flows north. On her way to the Netherlands, the Kleine Mark, the Hollandse Loop and the Merkske are added.

In the Netherlands, the Bovenmark flows to Breda where the Aa or Weerijs flows into it. The Mark continues its way in the canals of this city (see Center Breda). At the village of Terheijden the river makes a bend to the west. Here is also the connection with the Markkanaal and the boathouse of Rowing Club Breda.
At Standdaarbuiten the Bovenmark merges into the Dintel, after which the river flows into the Hollandsch Diep via the Volkerak.
