Lingeroute E-W (via Junctions)

This route takes you along one of the most beautiful rivers in the country: the Linge.
It starts in Wamel by the Waal and then heads west following the cycling junctions north of the Linge, as indicated above.
The route is completely flat and paved except for about three-quarters of a kilometer south of Acquoy (struck fine gravel).

The return trip can be made by train (from Gorinchem station to Tiel station, your bike can again travel with you on the train since July 1, 2020) or, possibly after an overnight stay in Gorkum, by bike via this route that follows the junctions south of the Linge: https://www.routeyou.com/nl-nl/route/view/7316434/recreatieve-fietsroute/lingeroute-w-o-via-knooppunten

A convenient starting and ending point is the romantically located "Hotel-Restaurant 't Veerhuis" in Wamel (between Junction 80 and 82).
If you want to cycle back and forth along the Linge for two days (with an overnight stay in Gorkum), you can leave your car here for two days.
Note: Between Wamel and Tiel, you cross the Waal using a foot and bike ferry where wearing a face mask is mandatory.

General: Unless you have the route as a GPX track on a GPS device or smartphone, it is advisable to take a Cycling Junctions map along with the Junctions scheme. It is always possible that a sign has disappeared along the way, and then the map can provide a solution.
