Cycling from Burgh-Haamstede to Zierikzee and back on the beautiful Zeeland island Schouwen-Duiveland offers a wonderful mix of nature, history, and culture. Along the way, you will pass the Plompe tower of former Koudekerke, a historical monument that can be visited and offers a panoramic view of the surroundings from a height of 23 meters, as well as the chance to spot seals in the Oosterschelde (national park) at the sandbanks of Roggenplaat. These can be easily seen with the telescope on top of the tower. On the climb up, you will receive information about the history of Koudekerke.
A visit to Zierikzee, with its rich history and charming streets, is a perfect complement to the cycling tour. You can optionally stop the navigation at the roundabout of Haringvlietstraat to visit the town.
The diversity of the landscape, from the dikes to the rural bike paths, makes every ride a unique adventure.
