A walk from Lonneker over "Het Vaneker", the former south camp; This military base played an important role in the military history of the Netherlands. The area was built as a pavilion barracks by the occupier starting in 1940. The design of the barracks is based on a Twente hamlet in an oak and camp landscape. So that it was not recognizable from the air as military terrain.
