"Right through Galder"
The municipality of Alphen-Chaam warmly welcomes you to the detour Balleman. Alphen-Chaam actually has everything that is worthwhile for recreationists and tourists; A rich history, water, forests, heathland and offers an oasis of peace and space. The starting point of this detour is at the St. Jacob's Chapel in Galder; Parking is available here. Central during this detour are the beautiful natural and bird-rich Markdal, the Kerselsche beek and nature reserve De Balleman. And a look at the Galderse Lakes. And on the way back we go a piece of parralel on the Hazeldonksebeek that we have already crossed

1. Markdal we take in contrast to what the leaflet describes and some beautiful pieces that I knew very well 50 years ago

Shortly after the start on your left you will see the Vonderpad and we go towards the stream valley of the Mark. In 2004, the reconstruction of the Markdal was completed and since then the fish stock in the Mark has improved significantly. Birds in the Markdal are the shore swallow and the kingfisher, both of which build their nests on
the banks of the Mark. In winter there are Canada geese and the teal.
