A beautiful city walk through Enkhuizen offers a rich viewing experience. Enkhuizen was an important trading city in the 17th century and had the largest herring fleet in the Netherlands. It is therefore also known as the "Herring City".

Along the route, there are numerous sights, including the iconic fortress gate the Drommedaris (the Drom for Enkhuizen residents), the historic Waag, and the impressive Town Hall. The walk also includes a variety of old mansions.

Part of the route runs along the centuries-old fortress wall, where you will encounter the impressive Koepoort – once the western gateway to the city. From the wall, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the city and the IJsselmeer. At the Zuiderzeemuseum, you can also take a look at the Krabbersgat and admire the historic buildings and artisan workshops.

The walk starts in the middle of the old center, but you can also choose to follow the route from the train/bus station at Stationsplein and then begin with Parklaan along the Snouck van Loosenpark.
