The Braga Cathedral Treasure Museum is housed in a former chapter house (Casa do Cabido).
The Museum brings together a collection of priceless pieces representing important events in the history of the Cathedral and presents itself as a Museum of Sacred Art with a complete and rich archive that will leave no one indifferent.
Known as “Roots of Eternity: Jesus Christ – A Church”, the permanent exhibition in the Museum of the Treasure of the Cathedral of Braga, one of the most visited museums in the city by tourists and locals, contemplates a clear narrative of the life of Jesus Christ, thematic cores related to the history of the Church in Braga and a core dedicated to jewelry and vestments.
Objects of great value can be found in one of the rooms of the Treasure Museum and, to be honest, it is not called this for nothing. In this museum, for example, you can enjoy the cross that Pedro Álvares Cabral brought to Brazil and that was used in the first mass celebrated there, together with the liturgical shoes of Archbishop Rodrigo de Moura Teles and many other relics.
