Stockholm is the capital and the largest city of Sweden. The municipality of Stockholm is partially located in Uppland and partially in Södermanland. It has an area of 188 km² and is part of the province of Stockholm County. On December 31, 2016, the city had 935,619 inhabitants, and the entire Greater Stockholm region had over 2.2 million inhabitants.
