The Heo Narok (Sunken Hole of Hell) Waterfall is located at the 24th kilometer post on Highway number 3077. It was the name given by forest poachers for this location as they heard the thundering sound of the falling water, especially in the rainy season. Sometimes elephants were killed in trying to cross the water in close vicinity of the falls. From the parking area you walk about 1 kilometer across Samo Pun Creek and reach the first tier of Heo Narok Waterfall, which is a three-tiered structure. The first tier is a steep cliff, around 50 meters in height. During the rainy season a great volume of water flows over the top of the waterfall which crushes into the lower basin causing a roar and gigantic columns of water spray. The second and third tiers of the waterfall are quite dangerous and not opened to tourists.
