Ban Khu Bua Ancient City is situated in Khu Bua District. It is an archaeological site where much archaeological evidence has been found and indicated that Ratchaburi used to be a civilized port city in the Dvaravati Period. The architecture in Khu Bua Ancient City was influenced by the Gupta school of Indian art and evidence shows that Buddhism had been in Thailand for more than 1,000 years. Other important discovered artefacts, especially ancient Buddha images' heads, are kept in the Ratchaburi National Museum and some are kept at Wat Khlong Suwannakhiri. Ban Khu Bua Ancient City contains much archaeological evidence, such as Boran Sathan Wat Khlong which is situated near the entrance of Wat Khlong Suwannakhiri, about 5 kilometers south from the town along Thao U-thong Road.
