Important religious buildings are monuments No 2 - No 6 in the inner part and monuments No 7 - No 9 in the outer part. Mueang Sema came later under influence of the Khmer architecture as can be seen from monument No 1. The Bo Ika inscription dating back to 868 AD and in Post-Pallava script was discovered in the vicinity on a decayed quadrilateral stele of red sandstone, broken into 2 pieces. The inscriptions mentions the overlord of a polity named Sri Canasa. Another inscription was also found here mentioning the name of the Khmer King, Jayavarman V who ruled in Angkor from 968 to 1001 AD.
