Kaeng Khoi Railroad Yard next to the station was the main Ratchasima of the Japanese locomotive and wagon repair in Siam during WW II. The area was bombed at day on 3 April 1945 by Consolidated B-24 Liberator bombers from the 356th RAF Squadron, Tenth Air Force of the South East Asia Command (SEAC) based at Salboni in West Bengal (British India). A Japanese memorial in Wat Kaeng Khoi commemorates the Japanese Railwaymen who were killed during the Allied air raid, while a Thai memorial honours the civilians of Kaeng Khoi were killed in collateral damage.
