Vils es una ciudad en el distrito de Reutte en Tirol con 1491 habitantes. Vils es una de las ciudades más pequeñas de Austria y la única en el distrito de Reutte. Vils se sitúa entre las montañas Tannheimer y la cresta de Falkenstein, en la frontera con Baviera, en el valle del río homónimo Vils. El Vils proviene de la localidad vecina de Pfronten en Baviera y desemboca pronto debajo de la ciudad en el Lech, que fluye hacia el sur a través de un corto desfiladero hacia Füssen en Baviera. Las demás localidades vecinas están en Austria: Grän en las montañas Tannheimer, así como Musau y Pinswang en el valle del Lech.
