El Bosque de la Paz puede que aún no parezca mucho un bosque, pero esa es la intención en breve. Este será un bosque de castillo que utiliza la estructura de los canales como base.
El Bosque de la Paz forma parte del área natural (o zona verde) de los prados de Gentbrugse.
El primer árbol fue plantado aquí en noviembre de 2008 por tres alcaldes; uno de Hiroshima, uno de Volgogrado (Rusia) y uno de Gante (Daniel Termont).
