Liers es un lugar y una submunicipalidad en la provincia belga de Lieja. Desde la gran reorganización municipal de 1977, Liers forma parte del municipio de Herstal. Liers se encuentra aproximadamente a 20 kilómetros al suroeste de Maastricht. Liers está ubicado en la Chaussée Brunehaut, que va de Tongeren a Herstal. Liers está en Droog-Haspengouw a una altitud de aproximadamente 150 metros. Liers se encuentra en el borde de la aglomeración de Lieja. Al este se encuentra la A13, directamente al este de la cual hay una gran zona industrial. Al norte, pasa la Línea 34 del ferrocarril, donde se encuentra la estación de Liers. Los alrededores de Liers aún son rurales.
