Es una pequeña y alargada localidad, de seis kilómetros de largo por dos kilómetros de ancho, y cuenta con más de 4400 habitantes. Originalmente era un pueblo principalmente agrícola, situado en Haspengouw húmedo, pero bajo la influencia de la fusión, Sint-Lambrechts-Herk pronto desempeñó una función residencial para la ciudad.
