Det er en lille, langstrakt delkommune, seks kilometer lang og to kilometer bred, og har over 4400 indbyggere. Oprindeligt var det en hovedsagelig landbrugby, beliggende i fugtig Haspengouw, men under indflydelse af fusionen fik Sint-Lambrechts-Herk hurtigt en beboelsesfunktion for byen.
