Oudegem es una aldea en la provincia belga de Flandes Oriental y un municipio de Dendermonde desde 1977. Cuando el municipio independiente de Oudegem fue abolido en 1977, tenía 3950 habitantes; desde principios de 2019 hay 4.221 habitantes. El pueblo se encuentra en la región de Dender, entre el Dender y el Escalda. Las menciones más antiguas dicen Aldengem, Aldengienh, Audengien y Oudegheem, derivadas de aldinga haim. Significado: casa de los descendientes de Aldo. Aldo es un nombre sajón/franco. El topónimo ingaheim es de origen germánico, más concretamente franco. La escritura Haagem proviene del autor Jef Scheirs en su novela El filósofo de Haagem.
