Elen es una aldea en la provincia belga de Limburgo y una parroquia de Dilsen-Stokkem. La aldea tenía en 2008 más de 2300 habitantes y había crecido solo gradualmente anteriormente. Elen se encuentra en el este de la provincia, cerca de la frontera neerlandesa y del río Mosa. La aldea se menciona por primera vez en el año 1150 como Hellini, luego en 1179 como Jelne, en 1229 como Heelne y posteriormente como Eelen y Elen. Hellini podría derivar de Halina, que significa 'tierra dura y seca', o de Aljo.
