Denderhoutem es una aldea en la provincia belga de Flandes Oriental y una parte del municipio de Haaltert. Hasta 1977 fue un municipio independiente, después del cual se incorporó al municipio fusionado de Haaltert. El lugar se encuentra en la región de Dender.
El lugar se menciona en un antiguo documento del siglo XI como Holthem, junto con el lugar Herlinkhove, que fue una aldea independiente hasta 1807. En el siglo XV aparece el nombre Tenrehoutem, que significaba algo así como lugar boscoso junto al Dender. Un apodo conocido para los habitantes de Denderhoutem es el de los campesinos del turf; en 1830, el Potter menciona una tierra de turba de 5 ha en el lugar.
