Zande es un pequeño pueblo en los campos de West Flandes. Desde 1971 es una submunicipalidad de Koekelare. Además de la municipalidad principal de Koekelare, Zande está rodeado de otros pequeños pueblos, a saber, Moere y Zevekote, Leke y Sint-Pieters-Kapelle.
Zande es principalmente un pueblo agrícola; la iglesia con algunas casas alrededor se encuentra en medio de extensos campos y prados. Hasta la segunda mitad del siglo XX, en la entonces municipio independiente se podían encontrar varios servicios, como una escuela primaria, pero estos han desaparecido debido a la pequeña escala y se depende de la municipalidad principal de Koekelare o de los pueblos circundantes. Además de las viviendas, en el pueblo hoy en día todavía se pueden encontrar varios negocios de hostelería. Estos viven tanto de la población local como del turismo en bicicleta en los tranquilos campos.
