Description

El haya común (Fagus sylvatica) crece bastante lentamente pero puede llegar a ser muy grande. Muchas raíces en la superficie y una densa copa de hojas son características destacadas. Por eso, a menudo crece poco debajo del árbol. La hoja es ovalada a en forma de huevo, de color verde oscuro con un borde de hojas ondulado.

El haya también es muy común en el bosque de Soignes y fue plantada masivamente a finales del siglo XVIII.
