El primer afluente del Itterbeek es el Baatsbeek. El Baatsbeek nace en el centro de Neerglabbeek y fue junto con el Itterbeek la causa del nombre de este antiguo pueblo, Gladde Beek. La provincia de Limburg compró alguna vez terrenos a lo largo del Baatsbeek y, tras la restauración de la naturaleza, se le dio su gestión a Limburgs Landschap vzw. En este hermoso trozo de valle, si no hay pastoreo de ovejas, puedes echar un vistazo a través de la portilla. Al igual que antes, encontrarás aquí a lo largo del arroyo praderas de heno que se siegan en verano y donde en otoño se lleva a cabo un pastoreo posterior. Dado que aquí no se fertiliza, en primavera se crea un gran mar de flores donde las mariposas, abejas y otros insectos encuentran su alimento.
