Reserva natural Abeekvallei El valle del Abeek se extiende entre la Heide de Donderslag y el Mosa. Junto con sus arroyos, el Abeek ha transformado la región de Meeuwen-Gruitrode en una zona ligeramente ondulada. La propia reserva natural abarca 90 hectáreas y se encuentra en la parte superior del valle, que mide 16 kilómetros de largo. Los biotopos más húmedos son los carrizales, los brezales de alisos, los estanques y los prados húmedos ricos en flores. En las pendientes más secas del valle se pueden encontrar brezos, prados pobres, lagunas y dunas móviles.
