La estación estaba en la ruta del primer tren de vapor belga que conectó Bruselas con Malinas el 5 de mayo de 1835. Con esto, es una de las estaciones de tren más antiguas en el continente europeo y de Bélgica.
Hoy en día, la línea de tren entre Bruselas y Amberes es una de las líneas más concurridas de nuestro país.
En la entrada (lado de Rubenslaan) hay un amplio y gratuito aparcamiento para coches y bicicletas. El centro de Eppegem se encuentra a poca distancia a pie (aproximadamente 500 m).
