En 1999, Vissersplein se convirtió en un anfiteatro con un rompeolas y una fuente de agua. La gente quería más fuentes en la ciudad y había suficientes rompeolas frente al mar, ¿por qué no en la ciudad? El complejo se puede utilizar para eventos y el lugar parece ser popular entre los residentes de Ostende.
Pero a muchos turistas también les encanta la fuente. Mientras los padres disfrutan de un aperitivo y una copa en las numerosas terrazas cercanas , los niños se aventuran en el agua de la fuente.
