La serie Aspe tiene un fuerte vínculo con este café. “Un día recibí una llamada del equipo para preguntar si podían echar un vistazo.” Poco después, ‘el inspector Van In’ estaba en la puerta cada martes para girar. “La serie de televisión al principio estaba completamente basada en los libros de Pieter Aspe”, cuenta Bruno. “En los libros, al inspector Van In le gustaba tomar su Duveltje en el café Vlissinghe.” El escritor Pieter Aspe fue durante años un cliente habitual en el café que se encuentra escondido en el barrio de Sint-Anna. Gracias a la serie de televisión, el café conoció un enorme éxito. “Más tarde, se alejaron de los libros como referencia en la serie de televisión”, cuenta Bruno. “Y hasta en los cómics de Suske y Wiske o Kiekeboe aparecemos.”
