Trogen es una comuna suiza y es sede de las autoridades judiciales del cantón de Appenzell Rodas Exteriores. Trogen fue parte del extinto distrito del Mittelland.
El lugar se encuentra situado a 930 metros de altura y está dominado por la Gäbris, una cadena de montañas local que forma parte de los Alpes suizos. Hacen parte de la comuna las localidades de: Gfeld, Habsat, Neuschwendi y Nideren.
