Eisenhüttenstadt es una ciudad en el distrito de Oder-Spree del estado de Brandeburgo, en la orilla oeste del Oder. Se creó como ciudad planificada tras una decisión en julio de 1950 como ciudad residencial socialista para el complejo siderúrgico Este. La fábrica sigue siendo un importante empleador hasta el día de hoy. Se construyó cerca del lugar histórico de Fürstenberg, que existe desde el siglo XIII, y que se unió en 1961 al distrito conocido como Stalinstadt desde 1953 para formar Eisenhüttenstadt. La ciudad es un centro intermedio y hasta 1993 tuvo su propio distrito urbano. Desde entonces, ha tenido el estatus de ciudad grande perteneciente a un distrito sin administración propia.
Debido a su historia como una ciudad completamente nueva y el desarrollo urbano con diversos monumentos arquitectónicos, Eisenhüttenstadt se considera un conjunto arquitectónico especial.
