Elten es un distrito de la ciudad de Emmerich am Rhein en el distrito de Kleve en Renania del Norte-Westfalia. Elten tiene una superficie de aproximadamente 9 km² y 4731 habitantes, de los cuales una minoría no insignificante son neerlandeses. Se encuentra en el Bajo Rin, muy cerca de los Países Bajos, en la autopista A 3 desde el área del Ruhr hasta Arnhem. Aquí también comienza la B 8, que recorre 800 kilómetros a través de Alemania hasta Passau en la frontera austriaca.
