La planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales de Dortmund-Deusen es la primera planta construida en el marco del proyecto de reconversión del sistema Emscher. El operador es la Emschergenossenschaft.
Hasta 1994, las aguas residuales del centro de Dortmund y del barrio norte fluían sin tratar hacia el Emscher. En ese momento, también se sumaron las aguas residuales de las cervecerías de Dortmund y de Hoesch AG. El área de captación de la planta de tratamiento es de 4.620 hectáreas.
