La estación de tren de Magdeburg-Buckau se encuentra en las líneas de tren Magdeburg–Leipzig y Magdeburg–Thale, en el distrito Buckau de Magdeburgo. La línea secundaria Biederitz–Magdeburg-Buckau ya no está en funcionamiento y ha sido desmantelada. Al norte de la estación hay una curva de conexión con la línea de tren Braunschweig–Magdeburg.
El edificio actual de la estación fue construido entre 1926 y 1928, reemplazando un edificio anterior que se encontraba aproximadamente 200 metros al sur. Es una construcción de ladrillo con un techo a dos aguas, y la entrada presenta un risalit de cuatro ejes con un pórtico semicircular. En su momento, fue uno de los edificios de estaciones más modernos de Alemania y hoy está protegido como patrimonio.
