La stazione di Magdeburg-Buckau si trova sulle linee ferroviarie Magdeburg–Leipzig e Magdeburg–Thale nel quartiere Buckau di Magdeburgo. La linea secondaria Biederitz–Magdeburg-Buckau non è più attiva ed è stata smantellata. A nord della stazione c'è una curva di collegamento alla linea ferroviaria Braunschweig–Magdeburg.
La stazione attuale è stata costruita dal 1926 al 1928, sostituendo un edificio precedente che si trovava a circa 200 metri a sud. È un edificio in mattoni con un tetto a padiglione, l'ingresso forma un risalto a quattro assi con un portico semicircolare. All'epoca era uno degli edifici ferroviari più moderni della Germania e oggi è protetto come monumento storico.
