Kaldenkirchen es un distrito del municipio alemán de Nettetal y cuenta con aproximadamente 9.600 habitantes. Está situado justo al otro lado de la frontera, cerca de Tegelen en Limburgo. La principal atracción del lugar es la antigua iglesia. La zona rural es muy visitada por recreacionistas de la vecina región del Ruhr y de los Países Bajos.
Una de las mayores viveros de Europa, Lappen, tiene su sede en Kaldenkirchen.
Una institución especial es la Sequoiafarm Kaldenkirchen, con diversas especies de secuoyas en los bosques cerca de la frontera con Tegelen.
