La batalla de Andernach tuvo lugar en 876 en Andernach entre los ejércitos de Carlos el Calvo y Luis III y fue parte de la lucha por la sucesión tras la muerte de Luis el Germánico. La batalla fue ganada por Luis III.
Cuando Luis el Germánico murió en agosto de 876, Carlos el Calvo quería apropiarse de la herencia. Sin embargo, el hijo de Luis el Germánico, Luis III, quien tenía posesiones en Sajonia y Franconia, se rebeló contra esto. Cerca de Deutz, Luis fue obligado a cruzar el Rin por el ejército de Carlos. Luis estableció su campamento en la isla de Andernach en el Rin, entre Coblenza y Colonia. Carlos llevó a cabo un ataque sorpresa, pero este fue rechazado. Luis esperó la caballería de Carlos, que fue obstaculizada por la lluvia, y finalmente logró obtener la ventaja; después de que los portadores de estandartes de Carlos fueron asesinados, su ejército se dio a la fuga. Luis logró capturar a cuatro condes, además de algunos tesoros y equipo.
