La reserva natural de Lehniner Mittelheide y el área de manantial de Emster se encuentra en el municipio de Kloster Lehnin, en el distrito de Potsdam-Mittelmark en Brandeburgo.
El área con el número 1509 fue protegida mediante un decreto del 21 de mayo de 1996. La reserva natural de aproximadamente 640 ha, que incluye el estanque Mühlenteich, el lago Mittelsee y el tubo Emstaler, se extiende al norte de Rädel, un distrito del municipio de Kloster Lehnin. Al norte se encuentra la A 2 y en el borde noroeste la carretera estatal L 86. A través del área transcurre la L 88, y en el borde occidental se encuentra el Gohlitzsee.
