Alfara[1][2] [3] es un municipio de Cataluña, España. Pertenece a la provincia de Tarragona, y está situado en la comarca del Bajo Ebro. Según datos de 2018, su población és de 400 habitantes.
La palabra Alfara deriva probablemente del árabe ''Al-fakhar'', que significa tejería , lo que podría indicar que existía en este lugar un núcleo de población dedicado a la alfarería.[4]
