Colmenar es un municipio español de la provincia de Málaga, Andalucía. Está situado en la parte oriental de la provincia, en la comarca de la Axarquía, capital de los Montes de Málaga, a unos 32 km de la ciudad de Málaga y a unos 44 km de la ciudad de Vélez-Málaga. Su nombre hace referencia a las colmenas de abejas que fueron la base de la economía local durante mucho tiempo.
