Villafranca de Ordicia[3] es una localidad y municipio español situado en la provincia de Guipúzcoa, comunidad autónoma del País Vasco.[4]El municipio nació en 1256, cuando el rey castellano Alfonso X el Sabio ordenó su fundación en el lugar que se llamaba Ordicia. Años más tarde, en 1268, el mismo rey otorgó a la población el título de villa y ciertos privilegios como el fuero de Vitoria, rebautizando la población como Villafranca, para incidir en los derechos de sus pobladores.
