Rivas-Vaciamadrid es un municipio y localidad española de la Comunidad de Madrid, situada a unos 15 km de Madrid, junto a la A-3. Cuenta con una población de 92 925 habitantes .Tres cuartas partes del término municipal forman parte del parque regional del Sureste. Allí confluyen, entre cantiles yesíferos, los ríos Jarama y Manzanares. Junto a sus cauces se han ido formando, como consecuencia de una prolongada actividad de extracción de áridos, numerosas lagunas donde anidan especies de anátidas que conviven con una colonia de doscientas cigüeñas y con los halcones y milanos de los riscos.
