Rivas Vaciamadrid est une ville de grands contrastes, elle est située en périphérie de la capitale, mais a réussi à être un grand lieu écologique espagnol, les trois quarts de la partie municipale est une zone protégée, on peut souligner qu'une colonie de cigognes et une centaine de faucons s'y sont établis.
