La Cartaginense se refiere tanto a una circunscripción territorial romana como a una provincia eclesiástica, ambas con capital en Cartago Nova .
La provincia romana Cartaginense fue creada en el Bajo Imperio y se situaba en el centro y sureste de la península ibérica, con capital en Cartago Nova, actual Cartagena. Comprendía el territorio original del conventus iuridicus del mismo nombre y, según la tesis tradicional, las partes adyacentes de los conventus iuridicus Tarraconense, Caesaraugustanus y Cluniacense.
